Goats In The Dark is a nighttime trail 5k held on August 28, 2026 in Helena, Montana. The event distance is 5k and runners are required to carry headlamps. The start/finish is located at the corner of LeGrande Cannon Boulevard and Silverette Street on Helena's far west side.

The course follows LeGrande Cannon Boulevard east to Tubbs Trailhead, then climbs the switchbacks for a loop on the Swaney, Diretissima and Ambrose trails on Mount Helena's northwest flank. After the singletrack loop the route continues on the Panhandle trail, drops to Reber Road and returns to LeGrande Cannon Boulevard for a 1/4-mile run back to the start/finish area.

Early-bird pricing applies to registrations submitted by May 31. Registration closes August 26, 2026. The race takes place after sunset so participants should expect reduced light on trail sections and bring appropriate lighting and footwear for singletrack terrain.
