Goats in the Dark

Event

Goats In The Dark is a night trail event scheduled for August 28 in Helena, MT. The event distance is 5k. Registration closes August 26. The course layout is unchanged from previous years.

The race is scheduled about a month earlier than in past years, so runners will pass through sunset before it becomes fully dark. Headlamps are required.

Course

The course starts at the corner of LeGrande Cannon Blvd and Silverette St on Helena's far west side. It follows LeGrande Cannon Blvd east to Tubbs Trailhead, then climbs the switchbacks for a loop on the Swaney, Diretissima and Ambrose trails on Mount Helena's western flank. The singletrack section finishes on the Panhandle trail, which drops to Reber Rd and returns to LeGrande Cannon Blvd for a 1/4-mile sprint back to the start/finish.
