Bristol, United Kingdom • 24 Oct 2026

Backyard Ultra 2026 (12 hour)

The event is a backyard ultra held at Left Handed Giant St Philips Brewery, Saint Philips Road, Bristol BS2 0JE, England. The format requires runners to complete one loop each hour: each loop is 4 miles, repeated for 12 hours, which totals 48 miles / 78K. Runners continue until they fail to complete a loop within the hour or fail to start a loop on the hour. The first person to finish the 12th loop is the winner. No pacers are allowed.

The route uses the organiser's usual short Thursday night course in reverse, starting from the Left Handed Giant taproom. Road shoes are recommended. The event provides a water station supplied by Precision Fuel and Hydration, Jimmy’s iced coffee during the day, a small snack station, one Left Handed Giant beer (alcohol free option available), and a goody bundle for finishers. Friends and family may attend to cheer, and an after-party is planned.

Practical notes include a request to use public transport because parking is not available, number collection on the morning of the event, and a requirement to sign a waiver on the day. There are no number swaps and refunds are not offered within seven days of the event. Participants are asked to bring suitable clothing and footwear, a fully charged mobile phone, lighting for low light, personal nutrition, and a refillable water bottle.
