LDWA Hunnypot Hundred 2026
The Hunnypot Hundred is the Long Distance Walkers Association's (LDWA) annual flagship event. The route covers 100 miles and must be completed within a 48-hour time limit. This specific edition is organized by the Kent group and starts from Meopham Leisure Centre in Kent. The course is undulating with a total ascent of approximately 11,250 feet.
The 2026 event coincides with the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie the Pooh. Consequently, the route passes through several locations associated with the stories, including the Ashdown Forest in Sussex. Participants will visit sites such as Pooh Sticks Bridge, The Enchanted Place, 100 Acre Wood, and Eeyore's Gloomy Place. The terrain varies from the North Downs and Greensand Ridge to the heathlands of the Ashdown Forest.
The course is primarily off-road, with less than 17 miles consisting of country lanes or roads. It incorporates segments of several established long-distance paths:
- Wealdway
- Greensand Way
- Sussex Diamond Way
- Sussex Border Path
- High Weald Landscape Trail
- Tandridge Border Path
- Eden Valley Walk
- Darent Valley Path
- North Downs Way
Participation is limited to 525 entrants. This event is open only to LDWA members who have completed a qualifying event. Individuals must be 18 years or older on the date of the event. Participants follow a route description from checkpoint to checkpoint where short breaks can be taken. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
