Castle Trails 30km

Maidstone, United Kingdom • 30 May 2026

Event overview

Castle Trails 30km is a point-to-point trail race launching in 2026 as part of the Three Castles 50km Ultra weekend. The route follows the River Medway from Little Fant Farm in East Farleigh to Tonbridge and covers 30 km. Entry includes a marked route, GPS tracking and live timing, medical support, bag transfer to the finish, and a finisher medal for those who complete the race within the 8 hour cut-off. Awards are given to the first three male and female finishers. Runners must be at least 18 years old to participate.

Course and logistics

The route uses towpaths and trails and is described as mainly flat and scenic. Highlights include the stone bridge at East Farleigh, Teston Country Park, Wateringbury, Yalding, riverside paths, views of Tonbridge Castle and a final circuit on an athletics track. There are two fully stocked checkpoints at 4 km (Barming Bridge) and 15 km (Hop Farm), plus a water-only station at 25 km (Racecourse Park, Tonbridge). Checkpoint and overall cut-off rules apply; missed checkpoints or use of other transport lead to disqualification. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone with the race director’s number saved and a drinks bottle with at least 500 ml capacity. A pre-purchased shuttle bus back to the start is available to runners for £12; parking at the start is free for brief stays or £2 to leave a car for the day.
