Castle Trails 30km
The Castle Trails 30 km is a point-to-point trail race launched in 2026 as part of the Three Castles 50km Ultra weekend. The route follows the River Medway from Little Fant Farm in East Farleigh to Tonbridge and uses the second half of the Three Castles 50km course.
After a short trail section out of the farm the course reaches the stone bridge at East Farleigh. The route passes Teston Country Park, Wateringbury and Yalding, offering riverside towpaths and sections used for watersports. Approaching Tonbridge, runners see views of Tonbridge Castle before completing the final 5 km and finishing with a lap of the athletics track. The route is described as mainly flat, scenic and runnable.
Entry includes a fully marked 30 km route, two fully stocked checkpoints plus one water-only stop, GPS tracking and live race timing, medical support, bag transfer to the finish, showers and changing facilities and food and drink at the finish. A finisher medal is awarded to those who complete the race within the 8-hour cut-off. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers. An optional shuttle bus from Tonbridge to the start is available to runners for a fee.
Checkpoint locations are Barming Bridge at 4 km, Hop Farm at 15 km and a water-only station at Racecourse Park, Tonbridge at 25 km. Runners must be at least 18 years old, check in at all checkpoints and follow event rules; pacers are not permitted and dogs are not allowed on course. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone and a drinks bottle with at least 500 ml capacity. The race holds a permit from the Trail Running Association.
