Event Overview

The Castle Trails 30km is a point-to-point trail race launching in 2026 as part of the Three Castles Ultra weekend. It covers 30 km along the River Medway from Little Fant Farm in East Farleigh to Tonbridge School Centre in Tonbridge.

Course Details

The route follows the second half of the longer Three Castles 50km Ultra course. It is described as flat and runnable, featuring riverside paths, the historic East Farleigh stone bridge, Teston Country Park, and the towns of Wateringbury and Yalding. The race finishes with a lap around an athletics track after passing views of Tonbridge Castle.

Services & Rules

The entry fee includes a fully marked course, two stocked checkpoints and one water station, GPS tracking, live timing, a finisher medal (for those within the 8-hour cutoff), medical support, bag transfer, and access to showers, changing rooms, and food at the finish. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers.

An optional shuttle bus is available from the finish to the start for a fee. Parking at the start location is free for those only staying for the race start, or available for a small charge for the duration.

Key rules include a minimum age of 18, mandatory checkpoint check-ins, and an 8-hour overall cutoff. Spectators are not permitted at the two main checkpoints.
