Event

The Three Castles 50 km Race takes place on 30 May 2026 and starts in Rochester, Kent. The course finishes at the Tonbridge athletics track, Tonbridge School Centre, London Road, Tonbridge, TN10 3AD. The event has an official time limit of 9 hours. Entry fees include live race timing and GPS tracking, three fully stocked aid stations, medical support, bag transfer to the finish, and awards for 1st to 3rd male and female finishers. Runners must be at least 20 years old on race day.

Course and logistics

The route follows the Medway Valley Walk from Rochester to Tonbridge, mostly on flat, marked towpaths and trails alongside the River Medway. The final segment into Tonbridge is a gentle 5 km leading to the athletics track finish. Checkpoints are located approximately at 13 km (Aylesford Priory), 24 km (Barming Bridge) and 37 km (Hop Farm). Some checkpoint locations do not permit spectators.

The race is mainly on shared paths and includes sections that cross busy roads or country lanes. It is a cup-less event; runners must carry drinks bottles with a capacity normally 1 litre (may be reduced to 500 ml close to the event). Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone with the race director number saved. Crewing is allowed at designated spectator locations only; pacers and dogs are not permitted.
