Lakeland Paws Grizedale Growl

This trail running event takes place on the east side of Grizedale Forest. It is the second event at Grizedale within the fourth season of the Lakeland Paws series. The course is described as the series' most runnable event.

The event offers two race distances, both on wide forest paths:

  • 10 km with 260m of ascent
  • 6 km with 150m of ascent

The 6 km route avoids some of the ascent found on the 10 km course and is suggested for beginners or those seeking a shorter distance for their dogs. The event is chip-timed, fully marked, and GPX files are available for download.

Runners are welcome to participate with or without dogs. Up to two dogs per runner are permitted on this course, and dogs must be run on a suitable harness. The minimum participant age is 16.

The event date is Sunday 8th February 2026. The entry fee is £19.00, but as stated on the source page, entries are now full and no new entries can be made. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
