Lake Norman State Park 30K & 50K Trail Race
The event in Troutman, NC on December 5, 2026 is the eighth annual Lake Norman State Park Trail Race, organized by Ultra Adventures Inc. It offers two distance options on single-track trails with no repeat loops and roughly 1,600 feet of elevation gain.

Both distances share the same initial route and use counterclockwise loop directions, run opposite to bike traffic. Both events have a 9-hour cut-off. The 30K passes two aid stations; the 50K passes four aid stations and an additional hydration point. Aid stations are fully stocked with water, soda, Tailwind, and a variety of food including sandwiches, cookies, oranges, bananas, gels, chips, and other snacks. Aid station locations are described by approximate mile markers on the course and more food will be available at the finish area.
All finishers who complete their selected event receive a finisher medal. Awards include first place overall male and female and first place masters male and female for each distance. Results will be posted to UltraSignUp and Ultrarunning Magazine. Packet pickup opens on race day. The event proceeds rain or shine; if the Itusi trails are closed due to weather the course will move to the Lake Shore Loop and runners will be notified in advance.
