Frosty Cox 6-Hour Trail Race
The Frosty Cox 6-Hour Trail Race takes place on a private network of trails near Concord, NC at 3702 Sapp Road. The course is a 6.2-mile loop composed of about 95% singletrack and 5% jeep road, all on dirt. Each loop includes roughly 1,350 feet of elevation gain and features a creek crossing, hardwood forest sections, and mature pine groves, with sustained climbs and descents that resemble mountain terrain within the Piedmont.
Loops are counted only as full laps for distance totals. The event uses a six hour time limit for overall scoring and certain awards.
Aid station services return each lap to the same location and are described as fully stocked. Typical offerings include standard aid station snacks, Tailwind, a selection of home-baked goods, and hot cocoa if conditions warrant.
Awards are given to finishers who complete at least one full lap and to participants who complete five laps (31 miles) within the six hour limit, which qualifies as a 50K award. Additional awards are planned for top overall male and female finishers.
