Lake Michigan RTS

Lake Michigan RTS is a 10K running event held on July 18, 2026, in Laketown Township, Michigan, at 142nd Ave and 66th St. The course combines road sections, hilly trail segments, and stretches of soft dune sand along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

The route begins on road, then moves into hilly trails and through soft dune sand at a steep incline. Because of the terrain and sand sections, participation by those younger than 16 is discouraged.

All participants are required to carry their own hydration during the race. Water will be available to fill bottles or hydration systems at the start area, and water will be available at the finish. The dune bowl area can be very hot, and a hydration system, water bottle, or another method to carry water is required in order to be allowed to start the event.

Much of the course runs across private property under a temporary easement; a detailed course map is not published out of respect for landowner privacy.

Registration opens March 20, 2026, and closes on July 18, 2026. The registration fee for the 10K is $65.00. All proceeds benefit P.O.R.T. through Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation.
