The SPASM Lake Chabot Trail Run takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lake Chabot Regional Park - Marina in Castro Valley, CA. The race offers multiple distances:

T-shirts are given to pre-registered participants and all finishers receive a custom medal. 50K finishers also receive a custom coaster. Overall top three male and female finishers for each distance receive awards and race credits ($50, $35, $20). Age-group awards are given to the top three in each age group and gender.
Course and logistics
The course starts at the Marina and loops around Lake Chabot reservoir and surrounding hills. The route is color coded and marked with ribbons about every 200 yards; polka-dot flagging indicates turns. Distances combine loops as follows: 8K = yellow loop, half marathon = pink loop, 30K = pink + yellow, marathon = pink twice, 50K = marathon + 8K.
Elevation gains and surface breakdown:
- 8K: Elevation gain 380' : asphalt, dirt road, single track.
 - Half Marathon: Elevation gain 1,450' : mostly dirt road.
 - 30K: Elevation gain 1,830'.
 - Marathon: Elevation gain 2,900'.
 - 50K: Elevation gain 3,280'.
 
Aid stations are fully stocked every 4–5 miles with fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink; participants are advised to carry at least 20 oz. of water between stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring a personal fluid container. Parking at the Marina is $5 per vehicle. Drop bags are allowed for the 30K, marathon, and 50K at the start/finish.
