The SPASM Lake Chabot Trail Run takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lake Chabot Regional Park - Marina in Castro Valley, CA. The event offers multiple distances:

T-shirts are provided to pre-registered runners. All finishers receive a custom medal; 50K finishers also receive a custom coaster. Overall top three male and female finishers in each distance receive cash race credits. Age-group awards are given to the top three in each category.
Course and logistics
The course starts at the Marina and travels around the Lake Chabot reservoir and surrounding hills. Distances were measured with a Rolatape surveyor's wheel. Courses are color coded and marked with ribbon approximately every 200 yards; polka-dot flagging marks turns and blue ribbons indicate the wrong way. GPX files are available for each distance.
Elevation gain and surface breakdown by distance are listed for each event (examples: 8K gain 380 ft, marathon gain 2,900 ft). Aid stations are fully stocked every 4 to 5 miles with fruit, snacks, water, and electrolyte drink; runners are advised to carry at least 20 oz of water between stations. The event is cupless - runners should bring their own fluid container; a limited number of soft cups will be sold at check-in. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
