Overview

The Bay Area 100 is a 100-mile ultramarathon point-to-point course. It starts at the California Memorial Stadium at UC Berkeley and finishes on the track at Skyline High School in Oakland.

Course Details

The route includes trails across the East Bay hills, passing through Bay View, Las Trampas, Lake Chabot, and Redwood territories. The course has significant elevation with 18,000ft of total vertical gain.

Race Details

The event begins on June 13, 2026. The race has a 33-hour time limit and official cutoffs begin at 11:30 AM. Early start options are available at 3 AM. Aid station locations and crew access information is provided separately.

Qualification

The event recommends that participants have completed a 50-mile race within the year prior to this event. Exceptions to this recommendation can be requested. The race is a UTMB index race, with results submitted within two weeks of completion. It is not a Western States qualifier in its first year. Trail runs nearby

Trail races at Rodeo Beach in Sausalito on February 7, 2026, offering distances from 8K through 50K plus a free kids dash. The event is sold out and features coastal and Marin Headlands views including the Golden Gate Bridge.

Scenic races at San Leandro Marina on February 14, 2026, with half marathon, 10K, 5K and a remote runner option. The mostly flat bayside course stays close to the water and offers views of San Francisco and the Bay.

Redtail Ridge at Lake Chabot on February 21, 2026 features 5K to 50K trail races on mixed dirt trails, fire roads and some paved sections. The event is chip timed, cupless, and limited to 500 runners.
