The Woodmonster Trail Race is a challenging 10-mile trail run held in Oakland, California, starting and finishing at the Chabot Space & Science Center. The course features a mix of hills and single-track trails, including the notorious Woodmonster climb, known for its steep and demanding ascent. Runners navigate a scenic route through West Ridge, Skyline Gate, East Ridge, and other trails, with aid stations along the way. The event offers a unique reverse handicap start system and a special Woodmonster Hill Climb Challenge for the fastest ascent on the 0.8-mile climb.
