Event Overview

The King of the Hill is a timed running event held at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, New York. Participants compete on a loop course of approximately 1.4 miles. The route includes sections known as Cardiac, Picnic, and Snake. The start and finish line is located by the parking lot.

The event offers two distinct timed categories for participants:

  • King/Queen of the Hill: A 3-hour endurance event.
  • Prince/Princess of the Hill: A 1-hour endurance event.

For the 3-hour event, the titles of King and Queen are awarded to the male and female participants who complete the most distance within the time limit. Overall top finishers are eligible for prizes.

Participant Information

Registered runners receive a race giveaway, which for the 3-hour participants includes a warmup and cooldown kit consisting of a jacket and pants featuring the race logo. Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at Smithtown Running Company or at the park on the morning of the event.

All participants are entered into a raffle for gear and prizes. An exclusive raffle for a pair of running sneakers is available for the first 50 people who register.
