The course for the 5K starts at the Fedele Family Plaza and winds through Heckscher Farm, where runners pass farm animals such as cows, horses, llamas, goats, and donkeys. The 5K follows a two loop route around Bendel Pond and reaches Bendel Mansion, noted for its lion statues and an Italian Renaissance fountain. The route continues on wooded trails inside the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, crosses Otter Bridge, and returns through Heckscher Farm.

The Hog Wild Kids Fun Run covers about 0.3 mile and passes cows and goats, including a Scottish Highland cow named Petunia. The kids run has a limited number of spots.
