Fire Tower Trail Half Marathon

The Fire Tower Trail Half Marathon takes place on June 7, 2026 at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY.

  • 13.1 miles Half marathon course.
  • 10K 10K trail race.

Both the half marathon and the 10K course pass by the summit where the historic fire tower is being reconstructed by the county parks department. The half marathon circumnavigates park trails and passes three overlooks: Spy Rock, Raven Rocks, and the Leatherman Overlook, as well as named rock features shown on the trail map. The 10K route is shorter and also ascends to the top of the park.

Registration opens March 30, 2026 and closes May 1, 2026. The registration fee for the half marathon is $70.00 and the registration fee for the 10K is $45.00.

The event raises funds for the Friends of the Fire Tower, a group that is part of the Westchester Parks Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit. Fundraising is intended to support projects to improve public accessibility to the tower and to fund educational materials and site amenities, including educational signage, canopy viewscape mapping signage, and benches at the base.
