Tappen Brook 5K, Bridgewater Town Park, Bridgewater CT

The third annual Tappen Brook 5K takes place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Bridgewater Town Park. The route uses the recently opened trail network at the park, developed the previous fall.

The course winds through woodland and follows a mix of packed dirt and natural trails. Runners encounter gently rolling hills, subtle elevation changes, and wide paths. Parts of the route offer views of nearby Lake Lillinonah.

All participants receive a race-day participation gift and top finishers are awarded prizes. The event notes a welcoming small-town atmosphere and encourages families, friends, and spectators to attend and celebrate at the park after the run. The race is presented by The Bridgewater Land Trust and the Bridgewater Recreation Commission, organizations involved in local open-space preservation and recreation.
