2026 Sterling Down & Dirty 5K

The Sterling Down & Dirty 5K is an obstacle based run held at Short Beach on Dorne Drive in Stratford, Connecticut on September 12, 2026. The course is approximately 5K long and includes more than 18 obstacles. The event is presented as family friendly and allows children to run the full course; there is no separate kids run.

Participants receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal. Proceeds support the Sterling Community Center and its programs, including the Sterling Food Pantry and youth development and youth programs. Registration is offered in adult and youth categories with tiered pricing periods; a group discount of five dollars per person applies for groups of four or more when all names are registered together.

Age and participation rules are specified: the event is open to participants aged eight and older; children aged eight to eleven must run with a registered adult, while those aged twelve to seventeen do not require an adult chaperone but must follow event rules. Children seven and under are not permitted to run.

A trail running event at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation offering 25K, 50K and 50M courses across wooded singletrack and carriage roads with runnable sections, ridge views, aid stations, and GPX course files.

A 2.5 mile trail run and walk at Wildwood State Park on August 8, 2026, held rain or shine. Registration fees and a donation option are listed, and personalized bibs are available for those who register three weeks in advance.
