Event Overview
The Ridge Reaper Trail Runs is a new trail running event organized by Steep Endurance for 2026. It takes place at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, a more than 4,000-acre nature preserve in Cross River, New York, located roughly 50 miles north of New York City. The park features predominantly wooded trails, including both technical singletrack and wide carriage roads. This location is also known for hosting the long-running Leatherman’s Loop 10K trail race.
Distances and Course
The event offers three race distances:
- 25K with over 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 50K with over 4,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 50 Miler with approximately 7,000 feet of elevation gain.
The course is described as being largely runnable, with climbs that lead to scenic vistas. The 50-mile event consists of two laps of a 25-mile loop, the 50K uses two laps of a 25K loop, and the 25K is a single continuous loop. Event Details
The races start from the Meadow Parking Lot. After the race, food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for participants. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. All finishers receive a specially designed medal.
