Squatchy Hooky: Lake to Summit
Squatchy Hooky: Lake to Summit is a running event on June 6, 2026, at Rockland Lake State Park that offers two distinct course experiences and a Hardship Entry option. The event starts and finishes at Parking Field #4 inside the park and includes both paved and mountain terrain.
The courses:
- 5K Run/Walk around Rockland Lake; fully accessible; no on-course aid stations
- 5K Wheelchair Roll around Rockland Lake; fully accessible; no on-course aid stations
- 10K Run/Hike on mountain trail with 1,300 ft elevation gain and technical terrain
The 5K courses follow a paved loop circling the lake and provide wide views of the water and parkland. The loop is mostly flat and is described as accessible for runners, walkers, families, and athletes using wheelchairs.
The 10K follows rugged, rocky trails and climbs Hook Mountain via the Long Path. The course includes steep climbs and descents, cliffs, scrambling, and dangerous dropoffs beyond the trail edge near the summit. The 10K accumulates about 1,300 ft of elevation gain on uneven terrain and has one on-course aid station at mile 4.25.
A Hardship Entry option is available for participants who need financial assistance; registrants will be contacted with a code to complete registration and may request full or partial scholarships. Community contributions to the Squatch Community Fund are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
