Shore2Shore : East Islip, NY

Shore2Shore is a point-to-point trail race held April 18, 2026, along the Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail. The event offers two distances:

  • 50K point-to-point on the Greenbelt Trail
  • 25K shorter course on the same trail system

The 50K includes roughly 1,200 feet of elevation; the 25K has noticeably less climbing, with most of the 50K climbing occurring in the northern 10 miles. The course mixes singletrack and wider trail, occasional road sections, road crossings, and some bike path. The route is marked with white blazes on trees and poles and supplemented by pink flagging and arrows.

There are five fully stocked aid stations spaced along the course, with options increasing later in the race. Hyle hydration products and gels will be available, along with sandwiches, snacks, candy, and fruit. Fifty-kilometer entrants may leave labeled drop bags for Aid Station 3 and for the finish.

Logistics note: parking is at the finish area of Heckscher State Park; bus transport to the start is provided for those who purchase a ticket. Packet pickup is available at Smithtown Running Co. Runners are responsible for their crew and pacer conduct; violations can result in disqualification or removal.

As part of registration, entrants must donate two hours of trail or volunteer work before April 1, or alternatively donate $20 to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail. Registration closes April 15 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
