The Shore2Shore is a point-to-point trail race on Long Island. It features two distances: 50K and 25K. The event will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Registration closes on Wednesday, April 15 at 11:59 PM ET.

Course and Location

The course is 100% on the Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail. It starts at Sunken Meadow on the north shore and finishes at Heckscher State Park on the south shore. The trail is well-maintained and includes sections on roads and road crossings. The event uses course markings.

Registration and Logistics

The race is sold out, but a waitlist is available. A trail work requirement is part of registration. Each entrant must either donate 2 hours of volunteer time to a trail organization (like the Long Island Greenbelt Association) before April 1, or make a $20 donation to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail.

Parking is at the finish area in Heckscher State Park. Participants for the 50K distance can purchase a bus ticket for transport to the start line or arrange their own drop-off.

Provided Amenities

The event includes fully stocked aid stations with hydration, gels, sandwiches, snacks, soda, candy, and fruit. Each entrant receives a branded shirt.
