Massapequa Turkey Trot 5K
The Massapequa Turkey Trot is a community running event held on November 26, 2026 at John J. Burns Park, 4990 Merrick Road, Massapequa, NY. The event features a certified 5K run/walk and a family half mile fun run on trails within the park. The 5K course is USATF certified and uses the interior loop at Burns Park; participants are asked to stay off the interior loop once the race begins.
Registration options include a 5K run/walk and an untimed half mile fun run. Registrants for the 5K who register by November 6 are guaranteed a top quality long sleeve shirt; shirt sizes are not guaranteed for later registrations. Packet pickup is available the day before at John J. Burns Park; bib numbers can be personalized if registered three weeks in advance and are required for pickup.
Amenities include post-race bagels and bananas. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the top three in multiple age groups, including 14 and under and five-decade spans up to 80+. Strollers are permitted; dogs are not allowed under Town of Oyster Bay regulations. Event proceeds are designated for the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
