Massapequa Turkey Trot 5K
The event is a Thanksgiving Day running event held at John J Burns Park in Massapequa, New York on November 26, 2026. The program includes a 5K run/walk on an interior loop within the park and a family 1/2 mile untimed fun run on park trails. The 5K course is USATF certified. The event proceeds benefit the John Theissen Children's Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Registration details note a guaranteed long sleeve shirt for 5K registrants who register by November 6; shirt sizes are not guaranteed after that date. Bib pickup is available the evening before at a back building near the park boat ramp, with very limited pickup on race day; entrants can look up bib numbers online. Registered participants must accept non refundable fees and a liability release as part of registration.
Post race refreshments include bagels and bananas. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the top three men and women in multiple age groups, including 14 and under up to 80 plus. Strollers are permitted; dogs are not allowed in accordance with Town of Oyster Bay rules. Live online and same day results and finish line photos are provided.
