SRC Presents: A Backyard Ultra : Event details
SRC Presents: A Backyard Ultra takes place at Blydenburgh County Park in Hauppauge, New York on December 12–13, 2026. The event uses a backyard ultra format in which participants run a set loop repeatedly; each required loop distance is 4.167 miles and must be completed within the hour to continue. The final competitor who completes a full loop will be declared the winner.
A secondary event, The 1 Lapper, is a single-loop trail event of 4.16 miles. Both events are listed as trail races and run on park trails. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, which supports trail maintenance on Long Island.
Registration windows and fees are specified per event: Backyard Ultra registration opens in early September with a registration fee of $125, and The 1 Lapper opens the following day with a fee of $20; both close in early September. There are no refunds. Entrants may defer their spot for one year and receive non-complimentary guaranteed entry for the next year.
Bib pickup is by assigned number at check in. Early pickup is available at Smithtown Running Company on December 10 and 11 during posted hours, and bibs may also be collected at the start/finish area on race morning.
