Run for the Rescue 5K Trail Run/Walk

The event is a 5K trail run and walk held at Blydenburgh County Park in Smithtown, New York, within the Nissaquogue Lands / Blydenburgh State Park area. The course follows park trails and includes a mixture of sand, dirt roads, hard packed trails and some pavement.

The park is dog friendly. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended. Participants who run with a dog are asked to start toward the back of the pack for safety.

On-course and event amenities include an informal bag check area near the staging zone, park bathrooms located within a few minutes walk of the start and finish, hydration available at the finish line, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.

Event recognition is provided online for top finishers overall and for top finishers in multiple age groups, from 14 and under through 90 and older. Bib pickup is available in person near Picnic Areas 1-5; virtual participants will receive a mailed bib when race gear ships. Guidance is given on proper bib placement for timing accuracy.

A portion of event proceeds benefits Last Chance Animal Rescue. Parking is available at Picnic Areas 1-5 as the primary lot, with additional parking at the boat launch and other park lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
