Run for the Rescue 5K Trail Run/Walk

This event is a 5K trail run and walk held at Blydenburgh County Park in Smithtown, New York. The course follows park trails and uses a mixture of sand, dirt roads, hard packed trails and some pavement. A course map is provided by the organizer.

The park is dog friendly. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended. Participants running with dogs are asked to start at the back of the pack for safety.

On site amenities include an informal bag check area in the staging zone, restrooms a short walk from the start and finish, and hydration provided at the finish line. Refreshments are provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.

Bib distribution is available in person at Picnic Areas 1-5 and bibs are mailed for virtual participants. Bib placement guidance asks that the bib be worn on the mid torso above the belly button and secured at the four corners for best read rates.

Primary parking is at Picnic Areas 1-5 off Veterans Memorial Highway. Additional parking is available at the boat launch area and near the dog park.

Age group recognition is provided for top finishers overall and across standard age brackets. Live results, same day finish line photos, and video are offered. A portion of event proceeds benefits Last Chance Animal Rescue and 100% of donations and fundraising directly impact that organization.
