Kettlefoot takes place at Doe Mountain Recreation Area near Mountain City, Tennessee, at 1203 Harbin Hill Rd. The event includes access to a 60 foot Kettlefoot Fire Tower with 360° views across Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. This event is USATF sanctioned.

Course details include estimated elevation gain and time cutoffs: the 50K is about 31 miles with ~5,700 feet of gain and a 10.5 hour cutoff; the 25K is about 15.5 miles with ~2,850 feet of gain and a 7.5 hour cutoff; the 13K is about 8.5 miles with ~2,000 feet of gain and a 4 hour cutoff. The 50K is formed by two laps of the 25K loop.
Registration is handled on Ultrasignup only; there is no paper registration. Registration fees cover use of the facility, aid stations, a finisher award, and post race food. T shirts are offered as an add on. Refund and transfer policies are: 50 percent refund until March 30, 2026; transfers to another runner allowed until April 30, 2026; pregnancy or postpartum deferral allowed for up to two years. No exceptions are permitted beyond the stated dates.
The Kiddlefoot Mile is free and open to ages 5 to 12. It is a relatively flat one mile route; a responsible adult may accompany a child. No placement awards or additional swag are provided. Lodging options include short term rentals in Johnson County and nearby commercial campgrounds. Vehicle camping on DMRA property is possible by arrangement with the race director. The venue is roughly 20 minutes from Damascus VA, 30 minutes from Boone NC, and 60 minutes from Johnson City and Bristol TN. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
