Event Overview

This event is the fourth race in a trail running series through parks in Louisville. It takes place at Jefferson Memorial Forest in Fairdale, Kentucky.

Course Information

The main in-person event is an eight-mile trail run. Participants start at Horine Reservation. The course winds through the Red and Orange Trails, with a section heading toward the Welcome Center and back. A five-mile in-person option is also available. The event is cupless, meaning runners must bring their own water bottle or hydration system.

Event Details

Packet pickup is on-site near the parking lot before the race start. Awards are given for Overall Male and Female. Parking at Horine Reservation is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Restrooms are available at the start/finish area, with additional portable units located nearby. Runners who complete three out of the four races in the Kentucky Cryptid Series, either in-person or virtually, earn a special Survivor Medal and Shirt. The Louisville Lovin' The Hills will take place in Brooks on Saturday 7 February 2026. You can run between 6 and 50 kilometers.

Trail races in Shepherdsville on March 28, 2026 offer 25k, 50k and 5k options across Crooked Creek sections with multiple water and aid stations. Participants receive a race shirt and finisher's medal, with a nine hour cutoff.

A rugged point to point 50 mile trail race on Indiana’s Knobstone Trail with roughly 10,000 feet of elevation gain. The event is cupless, uses live GPS tracking, and enforces aid station check ins and elapsed time cutoffs.

Two days of trail racing at Saunders Springs Nature Preserve with mountain bike endurance events on Saturday and 5K, 10K, and 25K trail runs plus a kids race on Sunday; proceeds support local trail organizations.
