Trail Running in Bourbon Country
The Bourbon Country race takes place at the Harry S. Frazier Scout Reservation in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. This event features a course set within 1,000 acres of hills on a trail that is only open to the public twice per year. The route follows the Crooked Creek Trail Race course in reverse while incorporating additional new segments.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 50k: A trail race consisting of two loops of the course.
- 25k: A trail race consisting of a single lap of the course.
- 5k: A trail challenge designed to test participants physically and mentally.
The 25k and 50k distances involve a 15.7-mile loop with more than 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. The event has a total cutoff time of nine hours for all distances. The course includes three water stations and two aid stations stocked with snacks.
All participants receive a race shirt and a commemorative finisher's medal upon completing their respective distance. Awards are presented to the top two overall male and female finishers in each race category. Packet pickup is held on the morning of the event at the scout reservation. This race is recognized as the sister event to the Crooked Creek Ultra Trail Weekday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
