Jurassic Express Trail Run - Swanage, Dorset

The Jurassic Express Trail Run is a coastal trail event held on 14 March 2026 that starts on the Swanage seafront and finishes beneath the ruins of Corfe Castle. Routes run along firm chalk paths and sandy tracks and pass coastal landmarks including Old Harry Rocks and Studland, offering a mixture of open trails, woodland sections and varied footing.

Three route distances are available:

  • 21.0 km Half marathon distance
  • 16.5 km Medium trail distance
  • 10.5 km Short trail distance

The event is chip timed and provides a high-quality metal finisher medal, a finisher goodie and drink, and a personalised certificate. On-course support includes water stations, refreshments, first aid cover and marshals. Course signage uses pink arrows and tape and hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs.

Runners receive their bibs by post; train wristbands, if chosen, are included in the same package. The finish area connects to a vintage private train service for the return to Swanage. The event operates a plastic-free policy at water stations and asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle. There is no on-site parking; public car parks are available nearby. Spectators are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
