Jurassic Express Trail Run (Swanage)
The Jurassic Express Trail Run is a coastal trail event on the Jurassic Coast that starts on Swanage seafront and finishes beneath the ruins of Corfe Castle. The route passes notable landmarks including Old Harry Rocks and Studland, following firm chalk paths and sandy tracks that make up varied off-road terrain.
Three route distances are offered:
- 21k (Half Marathon)
- 16.5k
- 10.5k
Entries are chip timed. Participants receive a finisher medal, a personalised certificate, a finisher's goodie and a drink. The event provides on-course refreshments, water stations, first aid cover and course marshals. The course is waymarked using pink arrows and pink tape, and hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs. The event operates a plastic-free policy for water stations and recommends participants bring a reusable cup or bottle.
After the race, runners board a private vintage train for the return journey to Swanage. Train tickets cost £9 per person and can be purchased during booking, via the event shop, or on the day. Spectators are welcome and may buy train tickets in the same manner. Dogs are not allowed at the event. Information on bib collection and on-site registration is provided to participants before arrival. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
