Event overview

The Jurassic Express Trail Run takes place on Saturday 14th March 2026 in Swanage, Dorset. The route starts on Swanage seafront and passes coastal and castle landmarks including Old Harry Rocks, Studland, and Corfe Castle. The finish is at the ruins of Corfe Castle, after which participants may return to Swanage on a private steam train. Spectators are welcome and can purchase train tickets with a booking or on the day.

Practical information

Entries include chip timing, a bib number, a finisher medal, finisher goodies, personalised certificate, water stations, encouraging marshals, and first aid. The course will be signed with pink arrows and pink tape; hazards and road junctions will be marked with caution signs. The event is plastic free at water stations, so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. There is no on-site parking; public car parks are located nearby. Dogs are not allowed. Experience moonlit trail running under headtorch on a scenic 10 km loop at Moors Valley Country Park, with the choice of one, two or three laps. Enjoy fluorescent markers and a Trees Not Tees option to plant a tree instead of a medal.

Enjoy a scenic, flat coastal run at the Bournemouth Coastal TEN, choose 10 mile or 10 km along Hengistbury Head and Boscombe Pier. Chip timing, a finisher medal and post race refreshments make it a perfect seaside challenge for all abilitie..

Take on the New Forest Stinger, a 10 mile off road trail around Ocknell Campsite in Fritham. Enjoy club camaraderie, a finisher medal, goody bag and age trophies in a limited field of trail fans.

Night orienteering in Brockenhurst: a 60 minute score event in the New Forest. Visit as many controls as you can for points using SIAC timing and waterproof maps, and bring high visibility clothing and lights for after dark navigation.
