Event Overview

The Jurassic Express Trail Run takes place on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. The event starts on Swanage seafront and finishes at the historic ruins of Corfe Castle. A unique feature is the post-run journey back to Swanage via a private vintage steam train.

Distances and Terrain

Three distances are available:

  • 21.0 km (Half Marathon)
  • 16.5 km
  • 10.5 km

The course follows firm chalk paths and sandy tracks along the coast. Runners pass landmarks like Old Harry Rocks, Studland, and Corfe Castle.

What's Included

Entry includes chip timing, a high-quality metal finisher's medal, a finisher's goodie bag, a personalised certificate, a drink, on-course refreshments, and first aid support. Marshals are present on the course. Runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle.

Event Logistics

The start location is Swanage Beachfront on Shore Road. There is no on-site parking; public car parks are nearby. Spectators are welcome. A separate train ticket is required for the return journey from Corfe Castle to Swanage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
