Jackrabbit Derby (3 mile XC run) and 1K Bunny Hop

The Jackrabbit Derby is the 30th annual cross-country event organized by the Empire Runners Club. It takes place on May 17, 2026 at Spring Lake Regional Park, with the field next to the Jackrabbit parking area used for both the start and finish. The Jackrabbit Picnic Area is noted as being near the boat launch in Santa Rosa.

The event includes the following distances:

  • 3 mile cross-country on dirt trails and paved bike paths
  • 1K Bunny Hop for children 10 and under on the paved bike path

Online registration closes on May 15. Empire Runners Club members may register online without a fee; non-members pay $25 online by May 15. Race day registration is higher and adds $20 to the listed prices. New 2026 membership options include adult membership for $36, family membership for $48, and youth membership (21 and under) for $12; these membership options include entry to this race. The Bunny Hop is described as a walk-up for children. Registration fees are not refundable unless the event is canceled. A downloadable course map is provided for the derby course. Trail runs at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa offer distances from 10K to 50K with steep Rim Rock climbs and valley views. Aid is touchless and parking is included with registration.

An inaugural trail ultramarathon in Napa offering a 50 mile solo and a two-person 50 mile relay over two long loops through Skyline Wilderness Park and Suscol Headwaters, run as a cupless event with four aid stations and limited crew access..

These trail runs explore the beautiful Sonoma Coast State Park. The courses traverse a scenic ridgeline with ocean views and summit Red Hill. The event will return in 2027 with a planned new location in Monte Rio.

A community charity walk and run at Howarth Memorial Park supporting Dogwood Animal Rescue Project, with a 1.5 mile course and a virtual option that ships a race packet including a limited-edition dog bandana.
