Jackrabbit Derby (3 mile XC run) & 1K Bunny Hop

The 30th annual Jackrabbit Derby takes place on May 17, 2026 at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa. Both races use the field next to the Jackrabbit parking area at the Jackrabbit Picnic Area near the boat launch for start and finish.

Distances and course surfaces include:

  • 1K Bunny Hop for kids 10 and under, on a paved bike path
  • 3 mile cross country race, on dirt trails and paved bike paths

Online registration closes May 15. Empire Runners Club members have free online entry; non members pay an online fee of $25. Race day registration adds $20 to the listed prices. New 2026 memberships include entry and membership: Adult 22 and over $36, Family $48, Youth 21 and under $12. Race day fees and registration rules apply as listed. Registration fees are not refundable unless the event is canceled.

The Bunny Hop is intended for children age 10 and under and is held on the paved bike path. Both races start and finish in the same field next to the Jackrabbit parking area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Trail runs nearby

Trail races at Jack London State Historic Park on May 2 2026 include a half marathon and a five mile through vineyards and Sonoma Mountain hills. Aid stations are provided and headphones are not allowed for safety.

A trail run through the forested trails of Pacific Union College offering 26k, 10k, and a 1 Mile Kids Run for ages 7 to 12. The event is cupless, parking is free first come first served, and proceeds support PUC Athletics.

A timed half marathon on 9 May 2026 from Quintessa Winery to Yountville in Napa Valley. The finish line Wine Village features live music, Domaine Chandon welcome bubbles and complimentary tastings from multiple wineries.

Trail races at Skyline Wilderness Park near Napa offering 50K, 30K, 21K and 10K on routes with Rim Rock climbs and wide valley views. Aid stations are touchless and the event is cupless so runners must bring their own cup or bottle.
