Tails & Trails Charitable Walk/Run

Tails & Trails is a community walk and run event on Sunday, June 14, 2026, held at Howarth Memorial Park in Santa Rosa. The event is organized by Wandering Soles Adventures and benefits the Dogwood Animal Rescue Project, a local nonprofit focused on animal welfare.

The in‑park course uses the Howarth Park trail system. Routes are described as exceptionally flat and combine paved bike paths with gravel trails. The trails run along lakes and through wooded sections, offering a natural backdrop for walking, hiking, or running. Parking near the start and finish is limited.

There is a virtual participation option that allows participants to complete any distance on their own course during the virtual event window. Virtual registrants are mailed a race packet that includes the event’s limited‑edition 2026 dog bandana. Registrations for the virtual option registered by May 15, 2026 will receive their packet before the virtual event window begins.

At the finish area in Dogwood Village, local businesses and vendors will offer snacks, goods, and information related to animal rescue work. Distances offered include:

  • Tails & Trails 1.5 mile
  • Virtual Dogwood Dash any distance

The event description emphasizes community support, fundraising for animal rescue, and opportunities for participants to attend either in person or virtually. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
