The event uses special use permits from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Registration opens December 1, 2025 and closes April 2, 2026. Field capacity is 250 combined entrants; a waitlist operates if the field fills. Registration is processed online through the event entry platform. Packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store and on race morning at the start area. The start and finish were moved to the Lake Hope Beach Parking Lot beginning in 2025; parking attendants will direct vehicles and most runners walk up to a half mile from parking to the start area.
Every finisher receives a wooden finisher award and race shirts are included with registration for those registered by March 1. Post-race food is provided with some vegan options. Walkers are permitted but should note the course has a closure window and the half marathon has a midcourse cutoff at the 8.05 mile aid station.
