Irchy Park Canicross

The Irchy Park Canicross is a dedicated dog-running event held at Irchester Country Park. Participants navigate a 5 km route through woodland areas, which feature a mix of grass, dirt, and hard-packed tracks. To ensure the safety of all dogs and runners, the event uses a staggered start format.

Registration for the event is managed from a gazebo on the Little Meadow, located opposite the play park. No timing chips or numbers are sent via post; instead, participants receive digital race packs prior to the event and collect details on site. The course is fully marked with arrow signs, and volunteers and professional first aid staff are stationed along the route.

The event is open to competitors aged 14 and over. Participants are permitted to run with either one or two dogs. Mandatory equipment includes a correctly fitting canicross harness and trail shoes. Following the race, finishers receive a medal, and dog treats are provided at the finish line. Trophies are awarded to the first three male and female finishers. Digital race photographs are available for participants to download at no additional cost.

On-site parking is available at the country park for a fee. The event also supports local food banks through optional participant donations during the entry process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
