Irchy Park Canicross

Irchy Park Canicross is a 5k canine-running event held at Irchester Country Park, Gypsy Lane, Irchester, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The course uses a mix of grass, dirt and hard-packed tracks through woodland, offering varied underfoot conditions.

Registration is based in the gazebo on the Little Meadow (opposite the play park). Timing numbers and chips are not posted out before the event; a race pack is emailed to participants in the week before the event. The start area is alongside the top car park and will be signposted. Parking at Irchester Country Park is available for a fee of £3.50 for up to 12 hours.

Event support includes professional first aid located at the start and finish, and Race Harborough volunteers on the course. The race uses a staggered start to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of dogs and runners. Competitors may run with up to two dogs.

Equipment guidance notes trail shoes and a correctly fitting canicross harness as appropriate kit. Awards include trophies for the first three male and female finishers and an event medal for all finishers; there are also treats for dogs at the finish. Free digital race photos are provided after the event. For 2027 the event’s charity focus includes the Jubilee Foodbank, Market Harborough, and the Weston Favell Centre Foodbank, Northampton, with entrants given the opportunity to donate.
