Irchy Park Canicross takes place on Sunday, 8th February 2026 at Irchester Country Park. The event is a 5k canicross race run with a dog. The route runs on a mix of grass, dirt and hard-packed tracks through woodland and will be fully marked with arrow signs. Organisers note that experts will be on hand to offer advice for first-time canicross participants.

Logistics and support

Entries are open and priced at £20, with a minimum competitor age of 14. Registration is based in a gazebo on the Little Meadow opposite the play park. No timing numbers or chips will be posted out before the event; a race pack will be emailed to participants in the week of the event. Parking at Irchester Country Park is available at a cost of £3.50 for up to 12 hours.

On-course support includes professional first aid located at the start and finish with the ability to access runners on the course, and Race Harborough volunteers will also be on the route. Recommended kit includes trail shoes and a correctly fitting canicross harness. Prizes include trophies for the first three male and female finishers and an event medal for all finishers; there will also be treats for dogs at the finish. Free digital race photos will be available after the race. The event will offer entrants the opportunity to donate to two local foodbanks.
