The event is a 5k canicross around Irchester Country Park. The route uses a mix of grass, dirt and hard-packed tracks through woodland and will be fully marked with arrow signs. Organisers will have experts on hand to offer advice for participants.

Registration will be based in a gazebo on the Little Meadow opposite the play park. Race information will be provided in a race pack emailed to participants in the week of the event. No timing numbers or chips will be posted out before the event. Parking at Irchester Country Park is available at a cost of £3.50 for up to 12 hours. The minimum age for competitors is 14 years. Entries are open and priced at £20.

Kit, support, prizes and photos

Recommended kit includes trail shoes and a correctly fitting canicross harness. Professional first aid cover will be available at the start and finish with the ability to access runners on the course; Race Harborough volunteers will also be on the course. Trophies will be awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers. All finishers will receive an event medal, and there will be treats for dogs at the finish. Free digital race photos will be available to download after the event. The event will offer entrants an opportunity to donate to local foodbanks. Trail runs nearby

Join MoRunning in Milton Keynes on 23 November for fun 1.5 km mini, 5 km and 10 km runs supporting Movember. The undulating path and trail course is dog and buggy friendly with chip timing, medals and easy fundraising.

Tackle 26.3 miles around Colworth Estate with five scenic laps of gently undulating trail and lanes, including woodland paths and narrow sections. Friendly club facilities, cup free so bring your own bottle, 30 November in Sharnbrook.

Run a scenic 10 mile trail around Grafham Water, weaving through woodland, Dragonfly Pond and Sanctuary Bay before a final mile along the dam wall. Canicross runs in a separate wave so you can bring your dog on a lead.

Bauble Bimble at Ferry Meadows is a relaxed lap based race where you run as many 5.3 km laps as you like in your chosen time. Small field, bespoke finisher medal, aid on each lap and virtual places; bring your own bottle.
