Huntsville Run Fest - October 24 - 25, 2026
Huntsville Run Fest is a weekend trail running event held at McMullen Cove, Alabama. The program includes multiple distances on the Two Mountain trail system and a road climb course to Sublett Point. Race categories listed are:
- Sublett Challenge 5K
- 25K Trail Run
- 50K Trail Run
The 25K course features mostly single track with about 2,500+ feet of climbing; the 50K repeats the loop and totals roughly 5,000+ feet of climbing. Terrain includes steep climbs, technical sections, fast runnable stretches, and shaded forest canopy. Notable landmarks along the trail include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are located at several points, generally no more than four miles apart, with a water-only unmanned station near Silo Hill.
The Sublett Challenge 5K is a certified out-and-back road route that climbs to Sublett Point. Awards are given for overall and masters divisions for men and women, plus a King of the Mountain prize for the fastest climb. A new Ruck Division is offered for participants running with added weight.
Packet pick-up is scheduled at Fleet Feet Huntsville on Friday and at McMullen Cove on Saturday. Local lodging options mentioned include Hampton Inn & Suites and cabins at Monte Sano State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
