Huntsville Run Fest
Huntsville Run Fest takes place October 24-25, 2026 in McMullen Cove, Alabama. The event offers multiple race distances on trail and road-oriented courses around the McMullen Cove Clubhouse and Two Mountain Trail systems.
Race distances include:
- Sublett Challenge - 5K out-and-back on Two Mountain Greenway, climbs to Sublett Point
- 25K Trail Run mostly single-track, approximately 2,500+ feet of climbing
- 50K Trail Run same loop repeated, approximately 5,000+ feet of climbing
The Sublett Challenge is a certified 5K on paved and greenway sections that climbs to Sublett Point. Awards include overall and masters categories plus a King of the Mountain prize for the fastest climb; a Ruck Division is offered this year.
The 25K and 50K follow largely single-track trails with steep climbs, technical sections, rugged descents, and faster runnable segments. Much of the route is shaded beneath a dense forest canopy. Notable landmarks along the course include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are placed so runners encounter water or supplies at critical points, generally never more than four miles apart; listed stations include Blake’s Cabin, Watson’s Overlook, Indian Tree / Tucker Intersection, Sublett Point, Silo Hill, and Start/Finish.
Packet pick-up is scheduled Friday at Fleet Feet Huntsville and Saturday at McMullen Cove. Proceeds will support childhood cancer research. Sponsors include Fleet Feet Huntsville/Madison and other local partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
