Huntsville Run Fest
Huntsville Run Fest is a weekend trail running event held at McMullen Cove, AL. The program includes multiple race distances, a family-focused festival atmosphere, and fundraising for childhood cancer research.
Distances offered:
- Sublett Challenge 5K
- 25K Trail Run
- 50K Trail Run
The 25K and 50K follow the same loop, with the 50K completing the loop twice. The trail is mostly single track beneath a dense forest canopy. The 25K features approximately 2,500+ feet of climbing and the 50K about 5,000+ feet. Runners encounter steep climbs, technical terrain, rugged descents, and some fast runnable sections.
Notable landmarks along the trail include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are placed at critical points and are never more than four miles apart; Silo Hill is listed as unmanned with water only.
The Sublett Point Challenge is a certified 5K out-and-back on the Two Mountain Greenway that climbs the paved road to Sublett Point. Awards include overall and masters categories and a King of the Mountain prize for the fastest climb. A Ruck Division has been added.
Packet pick-up locations are Fleet Feet Huntsville and McMullen Cove. Nearby lodging references include Hampton Inn & Suites and cabins at Monte Sano State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
