Hornby Island - Coastline Endurance Running

The event takes place at Joe King Park, Hornby Island, British Columbia, on Saturday, March 13, 2027. It offers two island trail distances with substantial elevation gain.

  • 50 km - 1,393 m elevation gain, full island tour through forest and coastal bluffs
  • 25 km - 806 m elevation gain, steep climbs and sweeping views

The courses run through mossy forest, rocky and rooty sections, and faster runnable stretches. March weather can be variable and may include wind, rain, or snow at higher elevations; rocks, roots and bridges can be slick.

The 50 km has four fully stocked aid stations; the 25 km has one. Aid stations will not provide disposable cups; participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. Drop bags are permitted for the 50 km only. Crews are not permitted and no motorized vehicle access is allowed on the mountain on race day. Hiking poles are allowed.

Bib pickup requires a government-issued photo ID and a wristband is required for food access. Pancakes and coffee will be available before the race; warm post-race food and beer will be provided afterward. Parking is available along roadways near Joe King Park and at the park. Ferry schedules mean participants need to be on the island the night before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
