Vancouver Island Trail Running Series - Qualicum Bay
The season finale of the Vancouver Island Trail Running Series takes place in Qualicum Bay on October 24, 2026, at the Lighthouse Community Centre, 240 Lions Way, Qualicum Beach, BC V9K 2E2. The event includes multiple trail races and a banquet awards evening.
Distances offered:
- Long course, approximately 25 to 27 kilometers, 345 m vertical gain.
- Short course, approximately 11 kilometers, 135 m vertical gain.
- Kids race, approximately 1 kilometer. Registration fees for the kids race support the Lighthouse Community Centre.
The long course has three aid stations around 6.7 km, 13.2 km and 18.2 km. The short course has one aid station near 5.8 km. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade, fruit, chips, pickles and assorted snacks. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own drinking vessel or purchase one on site.
There is ample parking at the Lighthouse Community Hall with direction provided by parking volunteers. Bib pick up requires government issued photo identification and takes place inside the community centre. Post race snacks are available in the community hall. Draw prizes and series points awards are part of the banquet, which is sold separately and becomes available for purchase two weeks before the race.
The event is held on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Qualicum and K’ómoks First Nations. A Halloween costume contest runs alongside the races with prizes in several categories; runners must complete the race in costume to qualify for prizes.
