Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail running event held at Newnham Park near Plymouth from Friday 10th July to Sunday 12th July 2026. The main course is a marked loop of approximately 5 miles used for timed 12, 24 and 36 hour events, and there is a separate children’s race of approximately 1.7 miles for runners up to age 16.
The festival offers entries for Solo runners, Pairs and Teams of three to eight, with one runner from a pair or team on the course at any time. Checkpoints are located around 2 miles into the loop and supply water, cola, Tailwind Nutrition in Mandarin Orange flavour and snacks. The transition area at the start/finish includes additional refreshments and a range of food vendors and trade stands.
All participants who complete at least one lap receive a bespoke Hope Trail Festival medal. Duration-based medals are awarded for 12 hour (bronze), 24 hour (silver) and 36 hour (gold) finishes; podium trophies are given to top finishers in male, female and mixed categories. Solo runners who reach 100 miles receive a 100 mile buckle; pairs and teams achieving 100 miles receive a shared buckle and individual medals.
On-site provision includes free camping for participants and one adult guest plus children under 16, parking adjacent to camping for runners, toilets, drinking water taps, regular event photography and a baggage/transition zone. Dogs are allowed on a lead and must start at the rear. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and a primary light is required for running in darkness.
