Hope Trail Festival 2027

Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail running festival held at Newnham Park, Plymouth PL7 5BN. The event is scheduled over three days in July 2027 and uses a well marked loop of approximately 5 miles for its timed events.

The festival offers three timed endurance options:

  • 5 mile loop course
  • Kids race approximately 1.7 miles

Runners can enter the 12 hour, 24 hour or 36 hour events as Solo, as a Pair, or as a Team of 3 to 8. Pairs and teams may have only one member on the course at a time; all team members may run a final joint lap which counts as a single lap. Participants receive a bespoke Hope Trail Festival medal for completing at least one lap. The 12/24/36 hour categories receive bronze, silver or gold medals respectively; solo runners (and pairs/teams) who reach 100 miles receive a 100 mile buckle.

Facilities described for the venue include free participant camping (entry covers one accompanying adult and children under 16), off-road parking, drinking water taps, toilets and trade and food outlets. There is a single checkpoint about 2 miles into the loop stocked with water, cola, Tailwind Mandarin Orange and snacks. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times; a primary light (headtorch or chest torch) is required for night running and failure to carry required kit may lead to disqualification.

The route is reversed in alternate years, creating separate course records for each direction. Entry changes, deferrals and transfers are subject to the organiser's published rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
