Hope Trail Festival 12/24/36 Hour

Plymouth, United Kingdom • 9-11 Jul 2027

Hope Trail Festival

Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail-running event held at Newnham Park near Plymouth. The event uses a marked loop of approximately five miles and offers timed endurance options of 12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours for solo runners, pairs and teams of three to eight. A separate timed kids race of about 1.7 miles is held for participants up to age 16 and includes medals.

The course has a single checkpoint about two miles in where water, cola, Tailwind Nutrition in Mandarin Orange flavour and snacks are available. The transition area at the start/finish provides additional refreshments and on-site vendors offer food, drinks and running supplies. Parking is free and off road. Free camping is provided for participants and includes one accompanying adult plus children under 16; there is no electric hook-up provision.

Mandatory kit must be carried at all times during racing. A primary light such as a headtorch is required to be worn from 7pm until dawn when on the course. Dogs are permitted on a lead but must start from the rear of the field and owners must manage interactions with livestock and wildlife on the private estate.

Awards include bespoke medals for all finishers, bronze/silver/gold medals linked to the 12/24/36 hour formats, trophies for top categories and a 100 mile buckle for qualifying solo or team efforts. The route is reversed in alternate years, creating two course records. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
