Hope Trail Festival
Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail running event held at Newnham Park in Plymouth. The course is a marked loop of approximately 5 miles; a separate childrens race uses an approximate 1.7 mile route for runners up to age 16. Events are offered as timed challenges over three durations with options to enter as a solo runner, a pair, or a team of three to eight.
There is a single checkpoint about two miles into the course stocked with water, cola, Tailwind Nutrition in Mandarin Orange flavour and snacks. A transition area at the start/finish provides additional refreshments and access to on-site food vendors and trade stands selling trail kit and nutrition. Professional event photography is provided and links to photos are published after the event.
Awards include a bespoke medal for all runners completing at least one lap, tiered Hope Ultra medals for the 12, 24 and 36 hour categories and trophies for top finishers in solo, pair and team categories. Solo runners and crews who reach 100 miles receive a special 100 mile buckle in addition to medals.
On-site facilities and services noted by the organiser include free participant camping covering one accompanying adult and children under 16, free off-road parking, toilets and drinking water taps. Showers and electric hook-ups are not provided. Dogs are allowed on a lead and must be managed according to the event rules. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and a primary light is required for use during hours of darkness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
