About the race
Hope Trail Festival is a weekend trail running festival held at Newnham Park in Plymouth. The event uses a marked loop of approximately 5 miles on private estate land and offers timed endurance races in different durations for solo runners, pairs and teams. A separate childrens race takes place on part of the course.
- 12 hours Solo, pairs or teams of 3 to 8.
- 24 hours Solo, pairs or teams of 3 to 8.
- 36 hours Solo, pairs or teams of 3 to 8.
- Kids race Approximately 1.7 miles for age 16 and under.
Participants receive free on-site camping for one adult guest and children under 16. Parking is off-road and there is nearby access to drinking water taps; toilets and urinals are provided but there are no showers or electric hook-ups. The course has a single checkpoint stocked with water, cola, Tailwind Nutrition in Mandarin Orange flavour and snacks. Trade stands, catering and event photography are available on site; official photography is provided free of charge.
All runners completing at least one lap receive a bespoke Hope Trail Festival medal. 12, 24 and 36 hour finishers receive Bronze, Silver or Gold medals respectively, with podium trophies in male, female and mixed categories and a 100 mile buckle award for solo runners who reach that milestone. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times; a primary light such as a headtorch is required from 7pm until dawn when on the course.
