Hope Trail Festival

Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail running event held at Newnham Park near Plymouth. It is based on a well marked loop of approximately five miles and offers timed endurance options of 12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours. Entrants may take part as solo runners, as pairs or as teams of three to eight. A separate timed children’s race uses part of the main course and is approximately 1.7 miles; all kids receive a finish medal.

The venue provides free camping for participants and includes camping for one additional adult and children under 16 as part of an entry. Parking is off road and free. Facilities on site include toilets, drinking water taps, a transition area with refreshments, a single course checkpoint stocked with water, cola, Tailwind Mandarin Orange and snacks, trade stands, and food outlets. Event photography is provided free of charge.

Awards include bespoke medals for all runners completing at least one lap, tiered medals for the 12, 24 and 36 hour categories, podium trophies by category, and a 100 mile buckle for solo runners who reach the milestone. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and a primary light is required for running in hours of darkness. Dogs are allowed on a lead and must start at the rear when accompanying runners; organisers may remove animals for safety reasons. Langstone Fell Race runs from Peter Tavy across Coombe Tor, Cox Tor and the Langstone over roughly 10 km, with 2k and 5k options and junior races; parking, toilets and post-race refreshments are provided.

A guided trail run of about 10 miles through woodland tracks, river valley paths and minor lanes around the Tamar Valley, starting at the Tamar Trails carpark. Steady guided pace; trail shoes, waterproof and snacks recommended.

A coastal multi terrain 10 km loop near Menabilly and Fowey on 27 May 2026. The marshalled course includes steep climbs, coast path sections and steps, with a share of proceeds supporting St Austell Foodbank.

A timed off-road challenge from HMP Dartmoor where participants choose a route on public rights of way and aim for the greatest straight-line distance in 6, 12, or 24 hours. All entrants carry GPS trackers and receive a medal.
