Hope Trail Festival - Newnham Park, Plymouth (10–12 July 2026)

Hope Trail Festival is a timed trail-running event held over a weekend at Newnham Park, Plymouth. The festival runs three endurance formats : 12 hour, 24 hour and 36 hour : available to solo runners, pairs or teams of three to eight. A 5 mile loop is used for all timed events and a childrens race uses part of the main course.

Participants receive a bespoke Hope Trail Festival medal for completing at least one lap. 12/24/36 hour finishers receive bronze, silver or gold medals respectively; podium trophies are awarded in male, female and mixed categories. Solo runners who reach 100 miles receive a commemorative buckle; pairs and teams that reach 100 miles receive a buckle to share and a medal each.

The venue offers free camping for participants plus one adult and children under 16, parking near tents for runners, toilets and running water taps. Traders, caterers and masseurs operate from the race village and there is a transition area with refreshments. A single checkpoint around 2 miles on the course stocks water, cola, Tailwind (Mandarin Orange) and snacks.

Mandatory kit must be carried at all times; a primary light is required for night running. The event follows a policy of no refunds; deferrals and transfers are permitted under specified deadlines and fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A traditional fell race from Belstone Village to Cosdon Beacon and back, about 3.1 miles with roughly 300 m climb over rough open terrain. Junior races use shorter distances and under 14s race separately.

A new 100 mile team relay in South Devon on 19 July 2026, split into 16 legs from 5 km to just under 16 km. Teams of 10 to 16 runners compete for awards while the event raises funds for two local charities.

Pretty Muddy 5k in Central Park, Plymouth on 19 July 2026 is a mud obstacle course of climbs, crawls and slides over hardstanding, gravel and grass. It raises funds for cancer research and is open to participants aged 13 and over.

An informal Dartmoor trail run from Castle Drogo around the Teign Valley on 19 July 2026. About *11 ish* on good tracks at a social pace, with paid National Trust parking and a recommendation to wear trail shoes.
