Hope Trail Festival
Hope Trail Festival is a multi-day weekend trail running event held at Newnham Park near Plymouth. The event is based on a well marked loop of approximately 5 miles set on a private estate with mixed trail terrain and woodland.
The festival offers timed endurance formats of 12, 24 and 36 hours for Solo runners, Pairs and Teams of three to eight. Runners count completed laps within their chosen time window; a final lap started before the event time ends may be completed and will count. Awards include bespoke medals for all finishers and bronze, silver and gold Hope Ultra medals for 12, 24 and 36 hour finishers respectively, plus trophies for top Solo, Pair and Team categories. Solo runners who reach 100 miles receive a 100 mile buckle; pairs and teams that reach 100 miles share a buckle and receive medals.
Facilities on site include free participant camping that covers one adult plus children under 16, off-road parking, toilets, drinking water taps and on-site food and trade vendors. A single course checkpoint about 2 miles into the loop provides water, cola, Tailwind Mandarin Orange and snacks. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and failure to carry required kit may lead to disqualification.
Hope Trail Kids is a timed race for children up to age 16 on an approximately 1.7 mile course. Parents may run with their children but are responsible for their supervision.
