The full route starts at Okehampton, passes through Postbridge and finishes at Ivybridge Community College. The 30 km option starts at Postbridge and follows the remainder of the 50 km route. The route is approximately 50 km (30 miles), almost entirely off road and mainly across wild areas of open moor. Notable locations on the route include the East Okement valley, Hangingstone Hill, the East Dart valley, Bellever Tor, West Dart stepping stones, Ryder’s Hill, a clapper bridge over the upper Avon river, the Dartmoor Volcano and views along the Erme valley out to sea.
Participants will be supported by qualified Mountain Leaders who act as mobile marshals, assist with navigation and provide First Aid safety cover in remote areas. There will be checkpoints with refreshment at Postbridge and Combestone Tor. Both events finish at Ivybridge Community College where finishers collect a memento and food and drink will be available. Maps and a GPX file are provided for navigation; use alongside OL 28 Dartmoor (1:25,000) or BMC Dartmoor (1:40,000) is recommended. Transport to the end of the event and an optional coach shuttle to the start are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
