Dartmoor in a Day 2026 is a supported cross-country challenge held on 5 September 2026. Entries open 10 October 2025 and close 27 August 2026. Both distances are open to runners and walkers. Entry fee includes GPS tracker hire. The event finishes at Ivybridge Community College, where finishers collect a memento and food and drink are available.

Route and logistics

The route starts at Okehampton, passes through Postbridge and finishes in Ivybridge. It is mainly across wild areas of open moor and is almost entirely off road. The full route is approximately 50 km (30 miles); a shorter option follows the same final section from Postbridge.

Checkpoints with refreshment are located at Postbridge and Combestone Tor. Maps can be downloaded for use with the Outdoor Active app; a GPX file is also available. Organisers recommend using paper maps alongside downloaded maps. Qualified Mountain Leaders act as mobile marshals, assist with navigation between checkpoints and provide First Aid cover in remote areas. A coach shuttle service, running from Ivybridge Community College, is available as an optional extra. Under 18s may participate if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
