The Hootie Hoo event takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at River Bends Park (22 Mile Entrance) in Shelby Township, Michigan. The event offers paved and trail options and a combined double-race option that pairs both courses. Runners who enter the double option must finish the 8K within 60 minutes to be allowed to start the 5K.

Entry and fees

Standard entry fees listed are $40 for individual 8K or 5K entries and $55 for the HOOT X 2 combined entry. Youth entries (12 years and under) are listed at $20 in advance and $25 on race day. Youth entries do not include the swag item but do include a finisher award.

Included items and services

Registration includes a choice of a tech shirt or a tech running cap, a unique finisher gift (small wooden box with a seed packet), age-group awards, raffle prizes, post-race refreshments, and race-day photos. The Hickory Grove Pavilion serves as the start and finish area for both races. An early packet pickup is scheduled the week before the race at Hanson's Running Shop. A coffee truck will be onsite.
