Event overview
The Hootie Hoo event takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at River Bends Park (22 Mile entrance), 5700 22 Mile Rd, Shelby Township, MI 48317. The event offers three options on two terrains:
- 8K - trail
- 5K - paved bike path
- HOOT X 2 - both the 8K trail and the 5K paved
Runners registering for the HOOT X 2 must finish the 8K in 60 minutes or less to be allowed to start the 5K.
Entry, inclusions and logistics
Published entry fees are $40 for the 8K, $40 for the 5K, and $55 for the HOOT X 2. Prices increase after December 31, 2025. Youth entries for ages 12 and under are $20 in advance and $25 on race day; the youth category does not include a swag item, but youth finishers receive a finisher award.
Registration includes a choice of a tech running cap or a tech shirt, a unique finisher gift (small wooden box with a seed packet), age group awards, raffle prizes, post-race refreshments, and race day photos. Early packet pickup is available the weekend before at Hanson's Running Shop in Utica. The start and finish locations are at Hickory Grove Pavilion. A coffee truck will be onsite and will accept card, cash and Apple Pay.
