  • 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

The 5K is an officially timed trail run and walk held entirely on grass and dirt surfaces. Participants can expect natural trail features such as rocks and roots, an elevation change of about 55 feet, and the possibility of muddy conditions. The event is scheduled to proceed in rain or shine.

The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is not officially timed and has minimal elevation change, providing a shorter option for those who prefer it.

Participants may register as individuals or as part of a team to support fundraising. Proceeds support Michigan based animal rescues through a registered charitable foundation. In previous years the event has raised over $10,000 for local rescues. The top fundraising team captain will receive a commemorative mug.

Prizes include entry drawings such as a $50 gift card for attendees who bring pet supply donations. Awards will be announced for overall 1st and 2nd male and female finishers and age category winners in the 5K. All finishers receive a medal. Friendly dogs are welcome and jogging or running strollers are permitted at each participant's discretion. Event shirts are available for registrations received by April 15, 2026; later registrations may receive shirts while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
