Pet Rescue Run/Walk 5K and 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
This fourth annual fundraiser takes place at Columbus Park, 1670 Bauman Road, Columbus, MI 48063. The main course is an officially timed trail 5K held entirely on grass and dirt trails. Runners and walkers should expect rocks, roots, an elevation change of approximately 55 feet, and possible muddy conditions. The event proceeds in rain or shine.

Participants may join as individuals or as part of a team. Fundraising supports the J & J Furry Friend Foundation, a 501c(3) that provides supplies and funds to Michigan based animal rescues. The event has raised over $17,500 in the past three years. The top fundraising team captain will receive a commemorative mug and all dollars raised go to local rescues.
Prizes and amenities include entry to win a $50 gift card and other prizes by bringing pet supplies such as pet food, dog treats, toys, bleach, paper towels, or pet beds. Award announcements follow the 5K for 1st and 2nd male and female finishers and age category prizes. All finishers receive a medal. Post race water and snacks are provided, and cupcakes are available to mark a commemorative birthday. Friendly dogs are welcome and jogging or running strollers may be used at participant discretion.
Registration opens 09/25/2026 and closes 04/22/2027. Fees are $30 for the 5K and virtual 5K, and $25 for the 1.5 mile. Registrations on or before 04/22/2027 receive an event t shirt; later shirts are first come, first serve and there is an opt out shirt option.
