Hill to Hollow 100km

Hill to Hollow 100km is a trail ultramarathon held in the Morgan Hill State Forest area near Tully, NY. The roughly 100 km course covers about 63.7 miles and includes approximately 10,286 feet of elevation change. The route crosses four counties and follows mostly single-track trails, including long stretches of the Onondaga Trail and sections of the North Country Trail and Finger Lakes Trail. The course passes ponds, waterfalls, high viewpoints including the highest point in Onondaga County, Highland Forest County Park, DeRuyter Reservoir, Muller Hill State Forest, and Chippewa Falls before returning to Morgan Hill State Forest. Camping is available in Morgan Hill State Forest.

There are seven staffed aid stations (not including start and finish). Typical aid station items include water, Skratch, ice when appropriate, fruit, savory snacks, sweets, and a limited selection of hot foods at Aid Station 7. Pacers are allowed for solo 100 km runners after about mile 33 and pacer or relay exchanges are permitted only at aid stations. Crew access is possible though some road conditions may be rough.

The event emphasizes self-sufficiency and navigation without reliable 5G or LTE coverage. Required gear includes an offline-capable navigation device with the course file, a headlamp with extra batteries, reflective vest, emergency blanket, waterproof shell with hood, water filtration, at least 800 mL of liquid capacity, and a 400 kcal food reserve. A 20 hour hard cutoff applies. The race runs concurrently with Morgan Hill Trail Races half marathon and marathon and is a UTMB Index race. A two-day event at Green Lakes State Park with Saturday swim-bike-run races and Sunday trail and kids runs. Registration opens July 21, 2025 and fees vary by event.

A looped Last One Standing trail event at Clark Reservation State Park featuring short technical laps on table rock and mixed terrain. Runners complete descending cutoff laps until a single winner remains, followed by a post race cookout.

Family friendly, self timed fun run and walk at Tap Root Fields on June 20, 2026. Mapped loops wind through fields and wood chipped trails with picnic seating and strawberry refreshments.

Trail races in Kennedy State Forest near Virgil, NY offering 15K and 7K courses on marked single track, logging and dirt roads with stream crossings, significant climbs, and nearby primitive camping at Hauck Hill.
