Event
The Hill to Hollow 100km is a trail race in Tully, NY, offering a 100 km solo and a 100 km relay. The event takes place on a loop that begins and ends in Morgan Hill State Forest, where camping is available. The race is a UTMB Index event and is Trail Sisters approved. It runs concurrently with the Morgan Hill Trail Races Half Marathon and Marathon.
Course
The course covers approximately 63.7 miles with about 10,286 feet of elevation change and crosses four counties. It follows nearly all single-track trails, including the Onondaga Trail and North Country Trail, passes Highland Forest County Park and DeRuyter Reservoir, travels the Link Trail through Muller Hill State Forest, joins the Finger Lakes Trail in Mariposa State Forest, and passes Chippewa Falls before returning to Morgan Hill State Forest.
Support and logistics
There are 7 aid stations (excluding start/finish). Aid offerings include water, Skratch, ice if needed, fruit, sandwiches, snacks, and a limited selection of hot foods at AS#7. All runners receive a pair of event socks; prizes are awarded to top finishers in each gender division and to the fastest relay team. Pacers are allowed for solo 100 km runners after about mile 33, one pacer at a time, with pacer and relay changes only at aid stations. Crew access varies by road conditions; crew may assist on course in 2025 but must not park on private property.
Rules and requirements
The hard cutoff is 20 hours. Required gear includes an offline-capable navigation device with the course GPS, a charged cell phone with the race director number saved, headlamp and spare batteries, reflective vest, emergency blanket, waterproof shell with hood, water filtration, at least 800 mL liquid capacity, and about 400 kcal food reserve.
