Green Lakes Endurance Runs
Green Lakes Endurance Runs is held at Tulip Hill Picnic Area at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. The event offers multiple trail race formats and a timed 12 hour event that uses a separate short loop.
Distances offered include:
- 100K - 8 laps; each lap almost exactly 8 miles.
- 50K - 4 laps; each lap almost exactly 8 miles.
- 25K - 2 laps; each lap almost exactly 8 miles.
- GLER GALEFORCE 12 Hour - timed clockwise 3 mile loop around Green and Round Lakes.
The fixed-distance loop combines well maintained single and double track, grassy single track, dirt roads and some asphalt. Two ascents and one long descent cross upland forest with roots, ruts and stones. Upper meadow sections called the Serengeti include more than 3 miles per loop and can be exposed to sun. The lower lakeside trails are shaded and generally flatter. The course is marked with turn markers and confidence markers every 100 to 200 meters.
Support includes two stocked aid stations and one unmanned water drop so runners are within 3.75 miles of the next aid. Entrants who register in time receive a race shirt and finishers receive a medal plus either a coffee cup or pint glass and a bumper sticker. Age group winners and podium finishers are recognized. Crew may set up bags and small canopies near the McHenry-Main Aid Station on a first come first serve basis. Registered entrants receive one raffle ticket and additional tickets may be purchased. The race uses a 15 hour race clock for fixed distances and a 12 hour clock for the timed event. Refunds will not be accepted after July 16, 2026 and there are no deferrals to 2027. All 2026 awards and finisher items must be collected on race day as nothing will be mailed afterwards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
