Last Woman Standing - Phoenix
This is a women-only backyard ultra held on County Line Road in Phoenix, NY. The event follows the Big's Back Yard Ultra format: runners complete a 4.167 mile loop each hour, starting on the hour, and continue until only one runner remains. A dinner bell at the homestead signals the start of each lap and there are 3, 2 and 1 minute warnings before each lap start; runners must be in the corral and ready to run.
The course begins with runnable forested trails featuring gentle ups and downs, a small stream crossing, and a traverse of an ancient glacial esker. At about mile 2 the route opens to a grassy perimeter trail around a large field with long, slow inclines and descents and direct sun exposure. The route returns to forest around mile 3.5, skirts a former Christmas tree farm, and finishes back at the homestead.
Support is concentrated at the start/finish homestead. Organizers will provide snacks such as potato chips, pretzels, M&M's, soda, water and energy drink; evening runners may also see coffee, pizza and sweet treats. Participants may set up crew tents in a large grassy yard. Per backyard ultra rules, runners must start each lap with everything they need, no on-course food or aid is allowed, assistive devices such as trekking poles are not permitted, and headlamps with spare batteries are required after dusk.
Registration opens May 18, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026. Registration fee is $85. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
