Event Overview

The Hendred Fun Run and Walk is a community sports event scheduled for Sunday, 10 May 2026. The event takes place at the Hendred Sports Club on Mill Lane in East Hendred. The activities are centered around a circular course that predominantly utilizes the trails surrounding the village. The event is limited to a maximum of 180 entrants.

Interested participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 5 km trail run and walk on an undulating course.
  • 1 km kids fun run featuring two laps of the sportsground with obstacles.

The 5 km route starts and finishes at the sportsground. This distance is divided into several categories, including Tweens (8-12), Teens (13-17), Open (18-54), and Legends (55+). Participants must be at least 4 years old to enter. For the 1 km kids event, the categories are organized by school age, covering pupils in Year 1 through Year 6.

Safety regulations require that all entrants under 12 years of age are accompanied by an adult. Those under 16 must have permission from a parent or guardian to participate. Dogs are not permitted to accompany runners on the course. A 50K trail ultra across the Chiltern Hills from Berkhamsted Castle to Hampden Meadow via Ashridge, Ivinghoe Beacon, Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill. Fully marked route with three checkpoints and a nine hour time limit.

Experience a timed run through the Chiltern countryside and the exclusive Wormsley Estate. This event offers mixed terrain courses over multiple distances starting from Ibstone Common to support a local primary school.

A multi-distance riverside series based at Streatley with 250, 150 and 100 mile options. Runners navigate with provided maps and GPX, use GPS tracking and reach checkpoints under strict cutoff times while carrying compulsory safety kit.

A circular walk from Pewsey Scout Hut across the Vale of Pewsey to the Marlborough Downs with routes from 10 mile to 35 mile, checkpoint refreshments, site visits and an e certificate for finishers.
