Hayfield Chicken Run

The Hayfield Chicken Run is a fell race in the Hayfield area. The event takes place on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The start and registration are at Hayfield Primary School.

The course is 8.6 miles long with 1480 feet of ascent. A shorter, approximately 10 km course is available for participants who prefer a less demanding route.

Entry is available both in advance and on the day of the race. The entry fee is £12 on the day and £11.40 for pre-entry. Participation is limited to runners aged 18 and over.

A long BL fell race around Wadsworth with navigational sections and mandatory FRA kit. The route is about 19.3 miles (31 km) with 1110 m ascent. Pre entry closes 6 February 2026 and very limited places may be available on the day.

The Drop 6 is a blindfolded, **6-mile** microadventure for people living 30+ miles from the venue; participants are dropped in an unknown location and must return to HQ without GPS or maps, solo or in teams of up to four.

A winter fell race from the Rams Head Inn across moorland and the Pennine Way, roughly 12 miles with 2100 feet of ascent. Checkpoints provide basic supplies and full FRA winter kit is required.

A chip timed 5k, 10k and half marathon around Heaton Park with mainly path running and one trail section. The event supports Shelter, offers medals and on-course marshals, and includes accessibility for buggies and most wheelchairs.
