HAVOC Twilight Series - Brentwood

Brentwood, United Kingdom • 8 Oct 2025

Event overview

The HAVOC Twilight Series 2025 No.3 in Brentwood is a mid-week street orienteering score event and is the third event in the HAVOC Mid-Week Twilight League. The format is a spiral score course based mainly on streets, with the possibility of controls in nearby parks and woods. There is one course with two time-limit options: Long (60 mins) and Short (40 mins). Points are awarded for each control visited and are adjusted using an age and gender handicap system. Bonus points apply for competing on the night rather than using the Anytime option. Full results are emailed to competitors and published on the HAVOC website.

Course, rules and logistics

The course is a one-line spiral and controls must be taken in order. Controls are mostly fire hydrant H plates or other street furniture. Controls are scored by the first digit of the control number (for example, 10-19 = 10 points, 20-29 = 20 points). Time penalties apply for returning after the time limit. The MapRun app is used to record visits; for fire hydrant signs record the lower number and other street furniture will have map instructions. Participation is at personal risk. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Organisers recommend appropriate clothing and footwear, high visibility clothing, and a head torch if starting late. The event start and finish are at the Gardeners Arms pub in Brentwood, which is about 0.5 miles from Brentwood station. Entry fees are nominal, with a small additional levy for non-BOF members to cover insurance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
