HAVOC Twilight Series 2025 No.2 - South Woodham Ferrers (24 September 2025)

This is Event 2 of the HAVOC Twilight Series, a mid-week street orienteering event on Wednesday 24 September 2025. The event uses a Snooker-O score format based mainly on streets, with the possibility of controls in local parks and woods. It runs as part of a three-event mid-week league. Results will be emailed to competitors and published on the HAVOC website.

Format, location and entry

There is one score course with two time limits: Long - 60 minutes, Short - 40 minutes. Controls are categorised as Reds (10 points) and Colours (20 to 70 points). Scoring follows snooker sequence: red, colour, red, colour, then the colour sequence (Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, Pink, Black). The short course requires three reds then a colour before moving to colours; the long course requires five reds then a colour. Reds may be used once only; colours may be used multiple times. Controls taken out of sequence do not count. Most controls will be fire hydrant H plates; for those record the lower number if MapRun does not register the visit.

The event starts and finishes at The Railway pub, South Woodham Ferrers, CM3 5NG (what3words: loops.greed.handsets). The pub is about 0.1 miles from South Woodham station. There is a small pub car park, a paid station car park, and free parking about 150 m north on King Edward's Road. Entry fees are typically Seniors £4.00/£5.00 and Juniors £2.00; Juniors are under 21 on 31 December. An additional £1 levy may apply for non-BOF members. Participation is at competitors' own risk; under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. High-visibility clothing is strongly recommended and a head torch may be needed in twilight. Newcomers are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
