Event Format

The Endless Garden is a Backyard Ultra marathon. This is a last-person-standing race where runners must complete a 4.167-mile (6.71 km) loop every hour, on the hour. A new loop begins each hour. To continue, a runner must finish the loop within the hour. The race ends only when one runner completes a loop alone.

Course Information

The course follows a 4.167-mile (6.71 km) loop on a mixture of road, sealed paths, and trail. The route is designed to be safe and runnable throughout the night. A route map will be provided ahead of race day.

Venue and Facilities

The event is based at The Waggoners Pub in Welwyn Garden City. The pub will remain open and accessible throughout the event, serving drinks at bar prices.

An Athlete Village provides space for personal gear and crew. Limited marquee space is available behind the pub on a first-come, first-served basis. An adjacent field will also be open for marquees and tents. Spaces are unallocated; early arrival is recommended to secure a spot.

The pub will offer a special athletes' menu, including an "Endless Backyard" set menu with options like pizzas and snacks.

Entry and Inclusions

The entry fee varies by date. Registration includes five drink vouchers (for half pints, soft drinks, or hot drinks) redeemable by the athlete or their spectators. Each participant also receives one commemorative pint glass and official race timing. The winner, referred to as "The Finisher," receives a prize.
