Wild Christmas Charity Run

This annual trail event raises money for the Hospice of St Francis; all profits from the event are donated to the hospice. The organisers run a guided 8km trail run and a family friendly 4km guided walk. Run leaders guide each group, sharing trail running tips and local information along the routes.

The event is open to all ages and abilities. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are permitted but places for dogs are limited; dogs must use canicross equipment, be kept under close control on lead at all times, and not be run with a lead attached to a collar.

Facilities at the venue include a cafe, toilets, and a bag drop. Parking is free on site and the start is about a 15 minute walk from the station. A free mince pie is provided with every entry and hot drinks including mulled wine are available to purchase. There is a prize for best fancy dress, though fancy dress is optional. The event lists a maximum of 50 spaces.
