Wild Christmas Charity Run
The Wild Christmas Charity Run is a seasonal trail event that raises funds for the Hospice of St Francis. The organisers state that all profits from the event will go to the hospice.
The event offers two guided routes:
- 4 km guided family-friendly walk.
- 8 km guided trail run with guides providing trail running tips and local information.
The 8 km run groups participants by similar ability and is led by run leaders. The 4 km route is described as family friendly. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs are permitted but must be run in canicross equipment only, kept under close control and on lead at all times, and owners must clear up after their dogs. There are a limited number of places for dogs.
Facilities at the location, Church Farm Cafe in Aldbury, include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. Parking is free on site and rail access is a 15 minute walk from the station. Entry includes a free mince pie; hot drinks including mulled wine will be available to purchase on the day. A prize is offered for best fancy dress, though fancy dress is optional.
