Course

The Hashawha Hills 50km is a trail run covering 31 miles. The course consists of two identical loops, each roughly 16 miles. The terrain includes:

  • Approximately 2 miles of asphalt.
  • Approximately 3 miles of gravel road.
  • Approximately 26 miles of trail.

The trails are mostly single-track, old woods roads, and open fields. The route is entirely runnable, with no mountains, rocks, or roots. There are several stream crossings. The scenery includes woods, meadows, and open fields with views of rolling farmland.

Registration

Registration is managed via a lottery system. The lottery opens on January 1, 2026, and remains open for 10 days. The draw occurs on January 10, 2026. Selection is based on a random number assigned to each entrant and the closing value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Entry is offered to the first 120 runners selected, with others placed on a prioritized waitlist. Prior finishers and volunteers receive priority on the waitlist if they are not selected in the lottery. The entry fee is $18.55.

Awards and Amenities

All finishers receive a handmade mug crafted by a local potter. Special awards are given to the top male and female finishers. The event provides well-stocked aid stations and hot post-race food and drinks served indoors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
