Event Overview

The Happy Camper Trail Race features a walk/run 5 km and a 10 km event. The race aims to bring the community together, promote fitness, and showcase trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It also supports the Campership Program, which provides financial aid for student camp experiences.

The 5 km route starts in main camp and proceeds down a gravel road for about half a mile. It then turns onto a trail through the woods. Runners pass a vista called Pride Rock. The course includes running across a lakeside beach before finishing back in main camp. The route has an elevation change of approximately 924 ft of gain and 924 ft of loss.

The 10 km route also starts and finishes in main camp. It passes by various camp areas, including cabins, a ropes course, a paintball course, and favorite trails. Runners will also pass the Pride Rock vista and run across the lakeside beach on the final stretch. The route has an elevation change of approximately 1,474 ft of gain and 1,474 ft of loss.
