Hankley Common 10km : event overview

This is a guided trail run at Hankley Common with a distance of 10km. The event takes place on 14 January 2026 and 24 March 2026. The route starts and finishes at Hankley Common and includes trails with open views. The run visits a reinforced concrete replica of the Atlantic Wall at an area known as the Lion's Mouth. Hankley Common is an active MOD training area and has been used for film and TV locations.

Practical information

Meet location: Hankley Common Lower Car Park, Elstead, Surrey. The run is led by an experienced trail and ultra runner who is a qualified guide and coach. This is not a race; participants run together as a group. The organiser recommends being able to sustain an average pace of 10 min/mile (about 6 min/km) on trail for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided. Silva head torches will be available to trial and Salomon trail shoes can be tested. The site is accessible by car, just off the A3, and a car park is available.
