Hankley Common 10km

The event is a guided trail run of 10km at Hankley Common, meeting at Hankley Common Lower Car Park, Elstead, Surrey. It takes place on 14 January 2026 and 24 March 2026. The stated cost is £16 per person. A car park is available at the meeting point.

Route, format and kit

The run starts and finishes on Hankley Common and follows trails with open views. The route visits the Atlantic Wall in an area known as the Lion's Mouth, a reinforced concrete training structure from 1943. The common is an active MOD training area and is also used for film and TV location work. Runs during lighter months are described as sunset runs; during darker months the group runs by headtorch. The event is led by a qualified guide and coach and is run as a group rather than a race. Participants should be able to sustain an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km on trail. A full kit list will be provided in advance. Silva head torches and Salomon trail shoes are available to trial on the run. An alcohol-free beer from Athletic Brewing Company may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. The location is accessible by car, just off the A3.
